final project- Perfectly Imperfect

Image
For this final project I choose originally just to do my art journey and where I started and where I am in that second. In my series thou I started to think about more about the meaning I was trying to share. More of what artist now a day are expected, what everyone thinks an artist "should be." Especially in illustration and animation where I wish to stand one day.  So for my series I choose the theme " Perfectly Imperfect " because as an artist we present ourselves as perfect when in reality we only look perfect because we are all imperfect. So my pieces I choose my art journey and how learning to be the "perfect" artist means leaning to be the most "imperfect" artist possible.  This is why my pieces are not spotted, they are a bit messy and nothing is perfect in these images because they are perfect by being imperfect.  Biggest struggle I had with this project is my images being all over expose from light because I was in my studio with brig...

Depth of Field attempt 2 best attempt- Mark me please

Image
I was so happy when this finally came out and worked. This was at the end of one of my for fun rolls and I some how was able to get this: Contact sheet 1.0 The contact sheet was not fully exposed, but even with it like this, this gave me a clear image of what was going on and what print would be good and bad to make. Rather then fussing over it, I moved to the big images right after Contact sheet 1.2 A and B were the best ones to choose from shockingly because I think they showed the most contrast in there sharpness. This was sadly taken at the end of a roll, so I could only go one way down on my aperture scale I couldn't go back up cause I ran out of film and I honestly didn't expect this to work.  How I did this was by taking 125 ISO film and following the sunny 16 rule exactly to a T. 16 aperture, 125 shutter speed, and then I went down on speed, higher on aperture.  In the end this worked out and I got two beautiful print with minimal damage from me struggling t...

Exposure Latitude Attempt 2 Best One- Mark me please

Image
For my second attempt at exposure, I used a more simple set up that had true blacks in the image so when I printed the image I knew exactly how dark the blacks should be. Contact sheet My contact sheet really through me for a loop a for time, mostly just the negatives and how everything is backwards. So light is dark, dark is light. So this was just a really big challenge in understanding what was what and how to keep track of everything in the negatives and in the contact sheet.  Film Final image 17.5 filter 3 + 2 seconds filter 4 For the final image, I was so, so upset. I dropped the film on accident when I came back the next day to try and get my boarders fixed. So now I ruined the film and got a meh image. But it is what it is. I was really sad that this image had scratches on it now from me dropping it, but thing happen. Nothing I can change, the scratches are bad enough that I don't know if I can fix them all without them being noticed.  I didn't have time to retak...

Depth of Field attempt 1

Image
Depth of  field Originally I understood depth of field as two focus points. So when I did this project I misunderstood and did this image first. I didn't do a proper contact contact sheet for this image because I had a good idea how long this image would take after the first image. // In the top left hand corner is this image//  image: a  85 seconds with filter 3 + 10 at filter 4.  35mm lens Image: b 85 seconds, filter 3 + 15 second at filter 4 35mm lens These images do have a twin it was suppose to go with it, but I never developed it so I only have it as film because after I was corrected of what was required. Film here:  I did do another attempt where I also thought this was depth of field but I was wrong. In the end I developed the image because I really like the shot and how it turned out.  Image a:  60 seconds filter 3 3 + 5 seconds filter 4 35mm image: b                     ...

Exposure Latitude Attempt 1

Image
Exposure Latitude Attempt 1 Contact sheet 1 This was my first roll of film ever, so not all of it worked in the first place. I did have huge pieces missing from this roll which I now know was me not paying attention to a special light on my camera that tell me the image won't expose on the ISO setting I'm on. I got these images by my friend holding the 18% grey card at me in my focus spot. Then I would change my settings, have her set it down, then I would nap the photo. Rinse repeat. I was able to get half of the project done, but by the time I exposed this I couldn't re take because of the snow on the ground and how cold the weather was turning. In the end my stubborn nature got me at least one good image.  film raw image Final print The Glossy paper really likes to curl and reflect me in it so apologize for the strange angles.  This final print took a lot of help and patients. Many people I spoke too only did 10-15 seconds for some of there exposures r...

Artist Exhibition - 1 - Pinhole Cameras - Camera + Pictures

Image
Cameras This was my favorite part of the whole show. Seeing all the creative cameras and how people would put these camera's together. It was also amazing to see what camera ended up actually working.  Final product //Sadly I accidently deleted the picture that was showing the right side// As for putting up the pictures, it was fun to make a giant collage. I think scattering the images was perfect for the whole class. I say this because I think having the images scattered not only made the eyes adventure through the story each person choose to tell, but showed how each person worked differently and saw the world differently.  My Images Shown   This was my self portrait. I choose this image because of how clear the plaid came out. Any person who knows me well they know I wear lots of heavy plaid shirts because they are warm and what I work in. So by having the plaid stand out, ever person who knew me well could pick my self portrait out in moments. My second image w...
