Cameras


This was my favorite part of the whole show. Seeing all the creative cameras and how people would put these camera's together. It was also amazing to see what camera ended up actually working.

As for putting up the pictures, it was fun to make a giant collage. I think scattering the images was perfect for the whole class. I say this because I think having the images scattered not only made the eyes adventure through the story each person choose to tell, but showed how each person worked differently and saw the world differently.

This was my self portrait. I choose this image because of how clear the plaid came out. Any person who knows me well they know I wear lots of heavy plaid shirts because they are warm and what I work in. So by having the plaid stand out, ever person who knew me well could pick my self portrait out in moments.



My second image was of my story books. I choose this image because of the interesting contracts between the white and black. I didn't expect the black to stand so well and for people to even be able to see some of my writing in the book. 

The story I wanted to share with this piece is the thought of how you can only see what a writer/ artist wants you to see. For example, you never know I had my camera stacked on my lunch box, two other books, and my coffee cup to get this image. That's because I didn't want my audience to see that, but to see the books and the environment that mattered for the subject I wish to present.

Depth of Field attempt 1

  Depth of  field Originally I understood depth of field as two focus points. So when I did this project I misunderstood and did this image first. I didn't do a proper contact contact sheet for this image because I had a good idea how long this image would take after the first image. // In the top left hand corner is this image//  image: a  85 seconds with filter 3 + 10 at filter 4.  35mm lens Image: b 85 seconds, filter 3 + 15 second at filter 4 35mm lens These images do have a twin it was suppose to go with it, but I never developed it so I only have it as film because after I was corrected of what was required. Film here:  I did do another attempt where I also thought this was depth of field but I was wrong. Exposure Latitude Attempt 2 Best One- Mark me please

 For my second attempt at exposure, I used a more simple set up that had true blacks in the image so when I printed the image I knew exactly how dark the blacks should be. Contact sheet My contact sheet really through me for a loop a for time, mostly just the negatives and how everything is backwards. So light is dark, dark is light. So this was just a really big challenge in understanding what was what and how to keep track of everything in the negatives and in the contact sheet.  Film Final image 17.5 filter 3 + 2 seconds filter 4 For the final image, I was so, so upset. I dropped the film on accident when I came back the next day to try and get my boarders fixed. So now I ruined the film and got a meh image. But it is what it is. I was really sad that this image had scratches on it now from me dropping it, but thing happen. Nothing I can change, the scratches are bad enough that I don't know if I can fix them all without them being noticed.  I didn't have time to retak...
